Therapy for pregnancy, children & families.
Reaching out to support you and your family is one of the most brave actions you can take. If your family is going through challenges or transitions, you do not have to do it alone.
Setbacks are the essential part of the process.
These are the fundamentals of what I do as a parent-child therapist:
1.
My focus is supporting families— prenatally through every stage of childhood.
Whether you are trying to build a family, newly adjusting to parenthood or taking on the school age years, navigating these transition can be isolating and overwhelming. Ideally, we identify what’s important to you and help you make decisions that align with your values. Therapy typically includes both parent and child or individual adults. I do see children for individual therapy; but know that I include parents in the therapeutic process. For child therapy, I’m seeing children 12 years and younger - this is my specialty.
2.
I create a safe space for learning and growth.
Within our sessions, I provide a climate of safety where you feel comfortable to explore new ways of interacting with yourself and others. As adults or kids, we are often asking ourselves the same questions — Am I accepted? Is it safe to be who I am? As a strengths-based therapist, I remind you that your child is doing the best they can and we can choose to be kind to ourselves during times of growth and change.
3.
We consider new tools for your toolbox.
I offer evidenced-based skills to promote the connection and boundaries within relationships. Parents are inundated with information and unfortunately, much of the tools on social media and other platforms are putting more confusion and stress on parents. I ensure that the techniques work for your family by finding a balanced approach. Together, we solidify techniques that you will use on your own to enhance a loving, bonded relationship for years to come.
